new information from apple

I was just browsing apple's website and came across new information.

I am not sure if this applies to older MBs or not, and I surely hope it applies to mine as it is a 2.16GHz model.

The first three support up to 2gb of ram, but the last one supports up to 4gb.

My question is this: Is there a firmware upgrade that allows for up to 4gb of system memory to be recognized and installed, or has is always been allowed. I have heard and read many stories of people installing 4gb and not seeing all of it.

Any Apple Professionals out there?

Thanks!
