hi since i need to start using final cut i would def need more memory

can you have 4 gigs on a macbook or 2gb is the max?
what kind of memory does it use?

From what I understand...

you can only run Final Cut Pro on a MacBook Pro. The MacBooks have an integrated graphics card that will not work with Final Cut Pro. Use Final Cut Express with a MacBook.

MacBook maximum memory is 2GB.

MacBook Pro maximum memory is 4 GB.
