Thank you to all of the you guys posting such great on hands experience on this forum. I have an 2010 MacBook Air and have been looking to upgrade to either a rMB or MBP for quite a while now. Yesterday morning a secondhand 2016 M5 rMB that is only 4 months old with 35 charge cycles came along and I managed to get it for £500 under Apple's RRP. It's a beaut! I still have my 27" iMac to do any "hard work".

So from Guernsey in the Channel Islands....thank you very much kind ladies and gents.

I think MacBook12" is much better when you need to take it to school everyday. But I was worried that it's not going to be fast/powerful enough, so in the end I got a MacBook Pro 2016.

Regretting it everyday, coz it actually slows me down and keeps glitching when I log in from sleep. my friend who's uses photoshop daily said she has no problem with her MacBook 12". damn.

If you're deciding to get a new macbook(12")/pro (13"), in either case you'll most likely have to get adapters to convert type c port to other USB ports etc. I found these 3 products:

1. live: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hypershop/hyperdrivetm-compact-thunderbolt-3-usb-c-hub-for-m

2. failed to deliver after funded: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/nonda/get-your-macbook-ports-back

3. live: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/962021031/boost-ultimate-solution-for-your-macbook-12

Just my two cents, but I'd say go for MacBook 12" with the third option. non-dongle type adapters are much more reliable. I've seen similar products like option 1 and 2 that went viral, but failed epically after you give them money.

Debating the same issue - have a 2015 MBr, thinking of going to the 2016, I have a 2016 MBP w/t but the thing seems HUGE compared to the MBr. Not sure what I will do!

Any input on how the MBr will be running parallels? Had boot camp running on the 2015 and it did OK. Any guidance is appreciated.

Thanks

Sooo...to sum it up, MB 12" or nMBP 13"?
Best Buy continues to run deals offering $300 off the MB 12". If you are on the fence, I'd say get the discounted MB 12" because it's a lot cheaper than the NT
MBP 13". Worst case scenario, exchange it for the 13" after a week if you feel the 12" isn't cutting it.

They have also been running similar deals on the NT MBP 13". I got a 13" MBP for $3 more than the m5 512gb MB. With tax it was under $1150, I think about $150 more than the M3 MB. I actually bought both and am keeping the MBP.
FYI... this was also open box pricing but purchased online and shipped. Saved around another $100 this way but still looks brand new.
