Right.
But it's expected that it's root:wheel, as the system is the only thing that need to read/write from that at wake/sleep.

Removing it via Finder will just prompt one for admin authentication.

Update:

Removing the sleepimage file seemed to only have temp success for me.
This issue is back in full force. :(

Lee, do you have 3rd party RAM? I've not heard complaints from any of my users about this, only from the tech-saavy ones who definitely put 3rd party RAM in. Yes, I'm grasping at straws.

Ooh boy, this is a fun one.

There are a bunch of things that can cause this:

1) WOL. Unlikely.

2) Faulty USB controller. I've seen this happen on two MBs so far.

3) Faulty BT module. Triggers a wakeup as the bus sees the frequent addition/removal of the module in question.

4) Faulty PMU.

5) Faulty lid sensor switch.

6) Misc. logic board fault.

7) You've got a USB device plugged in which is triggering the wakeups. Common culprits are USB 1.1 devices, but really any USB device can trigger a wakeup.

It's still happening under 10.5.8. Nothing goes to the logs. The machine just wakes up with the Bluetooth off and closed. The only thing I have plugged in is the power adapter.

How do you get them to replace the logic board or other components?

Weird. It stopped with 10.5.8 for me, and the handful of folks I support who it was also happening to. Sorry Eidorian, that sucks. :(

I know there's some sort of relation between the sleeping issue and the Deep Sleep widget. I haven't used that in months though.

It's just when it starts happening at random. I didn't encounter it under 10.5.8 until last night.

guys, i got the same problem, how can i check the wake reason myself?
i m new to mac....
