Had a question about the display of my late 09 unibody white Macbook. Same time last year I had my display replaced due to dropping something on it. Today I was browsing the specs on EveryMac.com and notice it said my Macbook was equipped with a LED display, decided to check the actual specs of my Macbook under "more info" and it states that I have an LCD screen installed. Now, is this right, or was it replaced with an LCD screen when it was repaired?

Screen capture of my Macbook specs.

It's the backlight, not the display per se, which is LED-driven.

The older alternative is a fluorescent backlight. Those have comparatively limited life.

Both use LCDs to give you the actual pixels.

OLED displays use actual light emitting diodes for the pixels but have not yet come to laptops. They're battery hogs, anyway.
