My Macbook, bought around x-mas 07, randomly will not turn off when I try to shut it down. It says that finder failed to quit. I have tried manually forcing programs to quit and the only way it will turn off is by holding the power button down for 5 seconds or so. Help?

Go to the Apple Genius.

Seems to me like a software issue that can be corrected by a clean install of Leopard. But, I'm making that advice thinking of the iPhone that can easily be Restored to factory state.... don't listen to my iPhone metaphor, just take it to the Apple Store.
