Every YouTube video plays for a few seconds then stops for 20-30 seconds, then plays again. I can't live this way, as i rely on YouTube videos for my job.

    OS X 10.5.8
    Safari 5.0.6
    2GB
    Intel Core 2 Duo

This started suddenly a few days ago and nothing i've tried has helped:

    - emptied cache
    - cleared history
    - checked for software updates (none)
    - joined YouTube HTML5 (made it worse)
    - left YouTube HTML5

    Ideas?

    Thanks.

After it stops, does it goes back to 0:00 again? Im having the same problem on my MacBook Air Mid 2011 and i suspect its a problem with Flash. What i did was uninstall Flash and install Chrome, i only use Chrome for YouTube Videos and still use Safari for other work.

EDIT: If you don't uninstall flash, same problem will occur on Chrome. Last time when i have this problem, all i did was right click on the YouTube video, uncheck "Enable Hardware Acceleration" ,drag the local storage all the way up to unlimited and check don't ask me again. This kinda worked for 1 month then the problem came back.

YouTube videos play for a few seconds, lags for several seconds, then resumes where it left off.

I guess i could switch to Chrome, but only as a last resort . . . because i don't know what it might screw up.

Had this problem several months ago and turned out that i failed to install a software update. Not the case this time. Very frustrating.
