is there any difference between the white unibody macbooks and the low end macbook pros? other than the material?
What would the resell value be of the white macbooks by the time the new macbooks are announced?

The resale value will be 150 to 300 USD less than the original price. Although the white Unibody MacBook won't likely see an update with the MBPs.

Tbh, right now the MacBook is a better deal. However it's rumoured that Apple will be refreshing the lineup soon on the MBPs, so the base will probably be bumped to 2.53, the next one 2.66 and so on 🙂

I'd say wait around and buy a new MBP when they're released, you get the FW800 port and the SD Card slot.

The Aluminium enclosure is also much more robust than the polycarbonate.
