    Hi,

Rec'd several new Macbook3,1 with Leopard installed. Am not ready to upgrade to Leopard yet so I thought I'd install Tiger on them. after getting Tiger installed I was unable to get en0 (ethernet) working. It is greyed out in system preferences - can't enable it!! It appears as though there is no driver for it in Tiger. It works just fine in Leopard.

Anyone know where I can get the Tiger driver for the ethernet interface on a Macbook3,1. Or could there be something else wrong??

    thanks, any help appreciated ....

    Ron

What Tiger disc did you use?

I'm a little surprised that the GMA X3100 works on Tiger as well.

    Eidorian,

    What is GMA X3100???

The Tiger disk is from a Macbook2,1. Used Target mode to install it from the Macbook2,1.

    Graphics.

You are running an unsupported configuration. I'm not up with the exact internal model descriptors of MacBooks. If that model ever shipped with Tiger then a retail DVD will work: otherwise you need Leopard.
