MacbookAir Mid-2012 13"- vertical lines and freezing

During the last couple of months, my macbookair started to freeze with no apparent reason and display these vertical lines when it happens (See picture here). Upon reboot, it works well and can not freeze for a week, and then freeze twice the same day.

It also starts doing like 'squeesh' sounds when it freezes.
Would appreciate any assistance.

Having the same issues on my MacBook Pro early 2012. It's got to the point where I can't watch youtube anymore because of the freezing and the heat that now happens when watching any videos

I'm afraid this looks like your logic board is toast mate....

Can a logic board be replaced independently?

Usually a logic board costs a significant amount, as it is most of the computer on a MBA, including the soldered ram, etc.
