ok i thought my macbookpro was doomed, so i did a hardware test and i got an error related to the video controller, so i suspect the logic board is at fault i have a macbookpro with the famous 8600 nivida chip. so i booked in to get my mac looked at.

and now today i turn it on and it boots fine no kernel panics or anything? what should i do? get it checked anyway? is the inconstant failing of the mac to boot related to the logic board problem?

any suggestions i wish to read!!

If you have the time, let it get checked.

I have an iBook that had its notorious logic board failure after 18 months, and before that it would sometimes work, and sometimes it would not.

oh good plan, so was your ibook working sometimes and other times not at all?

thats what ive noticed with my macbook pro

Yes. It would start up work for a day and then shut off again. That game went for a while and after I discovered/remembered* I had still warranty, all was fine.

* was drug dependent at that time
