macbookpro problems, wont reach log in

last wek i tried to start my computer and it gets to the screen with the apple and little wheel then it freezes and says to restart. Ive tried a few diferent things but so far nothing has worked. Today i got me instalation disks and tried a hardware test and got the problem: 4VDC/1/40000003:VideoController and i have no idea what it means or what to do next any help is greatly appreciated

Do you still have warranty or Apple Care?

Let me guess. You have an MBP with an 8600M GT. If so, your GPU failed an you need to go to an Apple Store genius bar/Apple Authorized service center.

And what about this more probable guess or warranty or Apple Care, though the 8600M GT situation will be solved by Apple even without Apple Care?
