Macbookpro revisions

Hey I was wondering if anyone knew which revisions the macbookpro was at and how one can know which revision is which?

I was also wonder what the best 15inch powerbook was before the macbookpro. I'm thinking of trying to buy one second hand or something.

For the first one, I can give a half answer. Look in the System Profiler for the serial number. For example, mine starts with W8607-. I may be wrong here, but I believe they started at W8606-. So mine would be a rev. B I guess.

About the second question, it would probably be the last rev. PowerBook with the new screens? Just make sure you get one without the lines.
