"MacBooks" to be renamed "MacBook Pros"?

Just got done reading Daring Fireball's post about WWDC predictions via 9to5mac. Gruber is suggesting that Apple may rename the MacBook?!

Also, in Mac news, I’d bet a small amount on a refresh to Apple’s notebook lineup, with a branding change where the “MacBook Pro” designation is used for all aluminum models, and just plain non-Pro “MacBook” is used for plastic models.

What would be the benefit in doing this?!
