Hi All,

Vista64bit is up and running on my imac3.06 with ATI4850. I used the bootcamp 2.1 64 bit drivers from the Leopard install disk. Rather than letting the setup autorun i had to select the 64bit drivers setup manually by exploring the DVD.

The one hiccup during installation was the failure of 'keyagent' and 'macHAL' to install as i had 'insufficent privileges'. I had already disabled the evil User Account Control so that can't have been an issue.

Without them there seem to be two problems:
a) No use of the apple keyboard function keys for changing volume etc.
b) Display drivers work fine (have been playing dawn of war 2, world in conflict and fallout 3 at good speeds with all details set to high) but i have no options for 16:10 resolutions other than the native 1920x1200. Which becomes a big issue on more demanding games where i'd prefer to sacrifice some resolution for fps.

I only recognised this second issue after i tried to use ntune/ati tool to force resolution changes and it went straight to blue screen and crashed.

Has anyone else been having these problems? My bootcamp drivers have been very unstable. Attempts to tweak/reinstall have led to my sound drivers disappear..

please no more Windows reinstalls! :(

Old thread, but I'm having this same problem with Windows 7 64-bit.

Any ideas how to fix this?

i ve been stuck wth the same problem
& i found the way, so if it can help others

MacPro 1.1 with windows 7
apple made me download bootcamp 5
nothing about win 7

u have to download Bootcamp 4 & install win 32 bits
then everything is smooth
(no need of cmd.exe, just click setup.exe)
