Macintosh HD data

I did a upgrade so I could get the new librarys but then did a clean install
if i go into disk utility i have 2 macintosh HD data

is there away to delete both Data partitions and OS X partition to do another clean install but keep my bootcamp partition

Boot to internet recovery (NOT to "the recovery partition"):
"command-OPTION-R" at boot.

Then... go to disk utility.
Go to the view menu and choose "Show all devices".
NOW erase the internal drive (make sure you choose the topmost line that represents the physical drive)

Then open the OS installer and try a new, fresh install.

personally Apple may think its to separate user data and OS data, but they could have named them differently. I already have two "Macintosh HD's" at certain times on Mojave, which ironically is a bug.

So, now its actually 'on purpose" ?

Just a simple knowledge base on instructing users to keep a second partition for data, or a screen during upgrading should of been sufficient.. .

- If they flick it on, then it would create a data partition..
- With if "Off" it would remain one.

I thoght disk utility shows BOOTCAMP partition. it does display on desktop on OS X doesn't it ? If you erase the top most, not the vlume, wouldn't that kill everything ?
