I figured using the disk is more user-friendly than fsck. Some people get scared off by that. Too... terminal-esque.
Have you tried going on the Apple support page and see if anyone in the past has had the same thing happen to them? Just a thought, I'll do some looking around today inbetween my work flow/getting the nextdoor neighbors kid to clean out my garagebillchase2 said:did it all... still no luck.
