I booted my laptop and a Macintosh HD Icon popped up. I had to select it before it would do anything. Once I selected it, the screen showed the apple icon and continued to the normal boot up screens. This never happened to me before. I am running Tiger on a MBP. What caused this and should I be alarmed?

Macintosh HD Icon at Startup?

you either pressed option during startup or for some reason your mac thought it needed to choose its startup disk. try going into Startup Disk in System Preferences and choosing your disk again and restart.
