Yes, it's possible. BUT - it's just a guess right now. The most important thing to check right now is the voltage, which might save all the other botherations. ;)

Okay, I'll see if I can find a meter. Is there a guide that shows exactly where to clamp and what to look for? I may not find the meter right away.
 
A small insulated flat-bladed screwdriver will do the trick - insulated - IE NOT a Jeweler's screwdriver.


Hey, so I found the original power cord that came with this 128k and decided to give it a go. (The previous power cord was some 3rd-party one that needed a good push to go in.) I flipped the switch and the baby booted right up from cold! No lines on the screen or anything! Hoping it wasn't just some coincidence. The only thing still remaining is the faint speaker buzz.

That being said, the OG owner said that he got the weird screen at one point, and he may have been using the original power cord. If not, he may have been using the one from the Image Writer, or some 3rd-party one. I'll see if this is consistent, though.
