macintosh se doesnt detect hdd

i just installed a 2 gb scsi hdd but when iam trying to format it with a boot disk it says unable to locate a drive

First, did you set scsi ID to 0? If not you must
second, scsi chain termination (too much to explain will have to google)
third, you need hard disk toolkit or Lido as non apple drives need formatting from third party software.

after format you can install OS as normal from floppy.
