I have this setup in mind : a Mac mini with an external Firewire HD (ministack or other). Can I install OS X on the external drive and have Linux (and nothing but Linux) on the internal drive ?
Or same scenario, but then with Linux as well as XP on the internal drive (making it triple boot, Linux (ubuntu) and XP on the internal, OS X on the external firewire drive. Is this possible ?

Never tried it, but it should work. I have OS X on my fw boot drive and OS X and WinXP on my internal. Might want to check Apple's docs to see if an OS X is required for the internal drive before others can be installed.
