I just ordered and installed 16 gb of ram from Crucial, but only 8 is showing up. Running Yosemite 10.10.3.

Any reason it would be doing this, before I speak to Crucial. I read on various sites the Mini can handle 16gb, and I have seen various installation tutorials showing 16gb when installed.

Thanks in advance for the help!

If you haven't done so already:
  1. Take both sticks out and replace with your former RAM. Ensure that both slots still work
  2. Remove old RAM and put in only a single stick of the new RAM. Boot and ensure you see 8GB
  3. Repeat with the other stick
  4. Places both sticks in
Hopefully it's a case of you failing to seat the RAM correctly. But worth stepping through all the troubleshooting first before raising a case with anyone.

Thanks! That was what I thought would be best in case one of the sticks was damaged.

I had the same exact problem happen with the old MacMini too! Typical. But getting in that was like brain surgery.

I'm just nervous of breaking the memory when you have to be a bit rough with it at times. But trial and error won out!
