MacMini questions

2 quick questions:

does the mac minis have laptops RAM or desktop (probably laptop but just checking)

Is it easy/possible to change the RAM/HDD later by my self?

It uses laptop components. If you are comfortable tearing down computer hardware, you can replace components yourself. You need a putty knife or something similar to pry the case off, and space is a bit tight inside. There are plenty of videos out there that can give step by step directions on how to replace everything. I like the parts and videos from macsales.com.

I took my server mini apart and changed a few things:

Ram upgraded to 8 Gb
Drive 0 switched to a 256Gb SSD for the operating system
Drive 1 switched to a 500Gb 7200 rpm Seagate

A great performance boost and it took me about 15 minutes on the second unit after learning on the first unit.
