    Hi hope someone can help

    I

I have a new Mac Mini Server [2012] arriving and I need to set up the server.

But before I get onto that I need to find out If I am doing with regard to setting up the broadband/network/wireless is correct.

The Mini is 802.11N enabled do I need to purchase a Bearextender Turbo to take the Mini to the 802.11ac standard or will adding an Airport Extreme 802.11ac take care of that.

However as my broadband is adsl2+ do I need a separate router [I was looking at the d-link Ac1750] that I need to 'bridge' with my Airport. Or will the airport extreme suffice.

    Hope this makes sense

And I would appreciate any help.

You will need and ADSL Modem. The Airport Extreme simply has an Ethernet WAN port.

Personally in the UK I use a Draytek Vigor 120 that simply does a PPPoE to PPPoA bridge function for me and then I configure the PPPoE information all on the Airport Extreme.

Alternatively yes you can put an ADSL Router into Bridge Mode, or simply use the ADSL Router and not bother with the Airport Extreme.

The mac mini will only use 802.11n, you would need an external Wifi device to get to 802.11ac speeds.

Personally however I would get mini located so that can use a Cat5e cable into the LAN port of the Airport Extreme, and get the Gigabit speed over the wire. Makes more sense if going to be using as a Server.

Ok to get the 802.11ac speed on the mini will the Bearextender Turbo do that job?.

If i go with D-link Adsl2+ router rather than the Airport will that be easier to configure the server and use non apple devices in the future or would it be easier to use the Airport.

And just to make sure will the Bearextender Turbo and the D-link 1750 suffice to create a 802.11ac network
