MacMini very very low sound

My Mac Mini has in the last couple of days developed very very low sound thru headphones and bluetooth speaker, the volume control is set at full boar, what the hell is going on

Got your iTunes volume tuned down?
Go to sound system preferences, and test to see if sys beeps are coming out at the right volume.
