What the @#$&! is MacNor? I found it on my Mac.

  • com.MacNor.plist (a Launch Agent)
  • MacNor Folder (in the Home Folder's Library)
  • MacNor Folder (in the Home Folder's Cache folder)
  • MacNor (an app in the Home Folder's Library MacNor folder)

A web search turns up nothing.

When I opened a MacNor cache file in TextEdit I found a web address...

cdn.forat.space

What the @#$&! is this?

Malwarebytes didn't pick it up. It's not on my friend's Mojave iMac; neither is it on my El Capitan MacBook Pro.

To be safe I trashed everything related to MacNor.

You installed an unknown application and/or known application from an untrustworthy method. These are usually distributed through cracked software or "security and cleanup" software. One source of this is a program distributed as Mac Mechanic.
