I'm in need of a computer for just writing with really. Nothing posh, likely in Bean. I've an old 2011 11" MBA with only 60 cycles on the battery clock that I'd like to press back into action for it as it ticks all my boxes.

Currently its on High Sierra. Is it worth wiping it for a Linux distro to get more than 3 hours out of the battery or should I use the partitioned installer to maybe wipe it back to Lion?

Not sure a different operating system will make significant difference in battery life but at least you might be able to use as Internet device with Linux distro. With HS or Lion impractical for internet use today.

All I really need is the ability to C&P some text into an email. Frogfind keeps the web managable and it will still run Pixelmator 1.0 for any image editing I need.
