Just got the notification. Since I just finished the first backups on my M1 Air, I'll give it a shot.

It worked, seems OK so far.

got it too but I wad on the beta and it seems they fixed the memory leak I was having issues with.

Yep, can confirm. I'm in EU and got update notification. I was not on beta.

Weirdness. Canada, 0930 Eastern Time here. Nothing. And yes, Saturday / Sunday not their usual download days, unless a significant issue.
Maybe they're doing a soft launch to see if their servers / older Macs can handle it (🙄), or directing it to only particular Macs at present?

i think OP is messing around , Why would apple release a major OS Update on a Sunday? and he didn't even mentioned if he has the beta profile installed or if its a public release.. Don't see any update available on my end and im not a beta tester on a beta profile

It definitely didn't. You'd have 11.0.1 on that computer as shipped from Apple.
Thats exactly what i just said to him, Funny how he is so sure of himself dismissing my claim and claiming his M1 mac came with 11.1 when the RC just came out to developers on Friday, absurd

11.1 came preinstalled on my new M1 Air that I received a week ago. fyi.
My own M1 Pro from 4 days ago came with 11.0 (not even 11.0.1).

On topic, I enrolled in the Big Sur beta but didn’t install it and then removed the beta configuration.
I see the RC version available for download too — but waiting for some confirmation that RC build 20C69 is indeed same as general release.

what they said above is that once you install the Rc then you will see ANOTHER update which is probably the final

11.1 is the first big s update i've run where i didn't have problems downloading/installing; for that alone, am grateful (that problem only happens on my macbook, not on the imac)

Damn nothing here yet hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday. Waiting on 11.1 for the fix for these DNS bugs that make my machine kernel panic with I run Little Snitch and my VPN client together.

The big question is does it fix the YouTube/safari scroll thing that I can confirm was clearly created at Satan's specialised 'infuriating irritations' department in the deepest bowels of Hell.
