macOS 11.5.3 = crackling sound

I got a mid-2015 MBP, after the recent update to 11.5.2 I noticed the audio is crackling and as though the speakers are set to the maximum volume.
Any way to fix this?

There's a few things you can try, like resetting NVRAM, restarting in Safe Mode, running Apple Diagnostics, etc.

Thank you, I had (for some reason) the box under User Interface Sound Effects checked. It's all good.
