  • If you have Advanced Data protection enabled, iWork suite app's collaborative documents may require you to close out of the software
  • QuickTime Player does not record the first couple of seconds when you use a Microphone (FB10086556)
    • Workaround: Wait around 5 seconds after seeing the yellow indicator in the Menu Bar, or use a different app for your recording needs

    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
  • Unlock with Apple Watch doesn't work at all
  • (⚠️Major Issue) Certain files will not be able to save or print (More specifically to PDF's)
    • Workaround: Don't use Safari if you are printing from a web app, and use a different PDF Viewer.

Is anyone else unable to save to pdf in Ventura 13.3 beta 3? I can't save a pdf in any application. This was also the case in beta 2.

I just tried it in Safari and Mail, no issues. I click the print button, then click the PDF button on the lower left. Preview using Export to PDF also working for me.

I tried the same in TextEdit. I was able to print on my printer, but not save to pdf.

Awesome! I've been noticing on these betas that restarting is doing some weird stuff but shutting down and powering back up seems to clear up a lot of stuff.
Unfortunately, the problem has returned. Back to the drawing board!

no issues on either of my macs exporting to pdf (tried in safari and pages just now). and i've been doing this thru all the betas. Does this happen if you try to save to another location? (ie desktop, documents, etc). and are desktop & documents in the cloud, or on your mac?

and does it work from the print window? (not a fix of course, but a possible workaround), ie File>Print>PDF>Save as PDF...

Doesn’t matter where I try to save it. My desktop files are local on my Mac. It doesn’t work from the print window. It just turns into a spinning beach ball when I bring up pdf from my print window.

I’ve notice this “fixes” a number of things for me this way, too. Until those things need to be fixed again 😆

seems like some 'pdf services' thing (but beyond my paygrade). can you open & view pdfs?

hopefully someone here will have some ideas. or... you could try calling apple; they helped me in the past with a beta issue (despite not 'officially' offering support for betas).

Definitely report that to Apple

I had this issue too (Previous beta), I just thought it was the file. Some files work, and others don't. I have added it to the list since it is pretty widespread.

Another issue. I finally reinstalled 13.3 b3 from Recovery. However, I can’t open my Photos library because I get a message that the photo library, which is from PowerPhotos, was created with a later version of Photos and says that I have to upgrade Photos. But I can’t find a way to update it or install a newer version because the version I have comes from the latest beta. I’ve taken a screenshot of the message and tried to attach it to a message in this thread to no avail. I’ve also tried to add it to Photos on my iPhone, with no luck. Does anyone have any idea how I could fix this? My photo library shows up fine on my iPhone, but I can’t seem to get it onto my Mac.

I don't know what PowerPhotos is but you can try rebuilding the Photos library. Here's Apple support page for how to rebuild it.

I have an unfortunate issue that started with firmware 8422.100.640.505.1 (beta 2) on M1 MBP where plugging in a dock with a DisplayPort monitor attached will crash the laptop with SOCD report detected: (iBoot panic) being the only message in the report to Apple dialog.

I'm confident it's the firmware as I've re-installed back to 13.2 and it's still occurring. (firmware doesn't downgrade)

I'd give the new firmware in 13.3 beta 3 a try, but I'd rather not it have unlocking with Apple Watch broken which is in the known issues.

Well, I upgraded to 13.3b3 and firmware 8422.100.645.0.1 did indeed fix the crashing issue. 😌
