Untested Issues

  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
  • QuickTime Player does not record the first couple of seconds when you use a Microphone (FB10086556)
    • Workaround: Wait around 5 seconds after seeing the yellow indicator in the Menu Bar, or use a different app for your recording needs
    • Issue present since macOS 10.13
• Remaining cosmetic issue; with two Users, the icon for the second User can get changed to the icon for the main User (and vice versa). Fast User switching still works, and the icons can be reset, but one, or both, will change again at an unspecified time. Present since 13.4.

Additional Notes
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"

I am facing the many bugs on this update. At first, after the update. My Speakers and Microphone stopped Working. Then I went to authorised Apple Store. When they checked my MBP, they said everything is fine with hardware, there is a software bug. They reset my MacBook Pro 14" M1 Pro. From today morning, Camera on FaceTime specifically stopped working. As the weekend has started, I will take my MBP again on Monday. Does anyone else having similar bugs?

I cannot use 13.4.1. I have an m1 mini from late January or early February 2021. 8gb 256ssd basic model. I installed 13.4. on an external usb c firecuda drive. I have downloaded and installed 13.4.1 several times. It restarts and shows the progress bar on black screen. Looks like it's installing. Then it reboots to my desktop without asking for my password. Then when I check About This Mac it still says 13.4. Not 13.4.1. I check system preferences and it says update available and it downloads again. It restarts my machine and looks like it's installing. I have done this several times and when it reboots to my desktop it still says 13.4. Not 13.4.1. 13.4.1 does not seem to want to install.

Main issue appears to be memory utilization with web browser. Super high memory utilization when browsing or using mostly dynamic web pages. Notable Confluence Cloud or Word Online which normal use high memory, however the mouse slows down, becomes jerky, and then causing major usability issues. This happened pretty much since the last two security updates.

Another issue relates to super high CPU usage with Teams calls.

These above issues I have not experienced in the past 2 + years since purchasing this Mac.

System
M1 Mac Mini 8/8 version
16GB memory
512GB storage
