New Features & Changes
  • Members of the Apple Beta Software Program, Apple Developer Program, and AppleSeed Beta Program will see a new option to enable betas directly from Software Update beginning macOS Ventura 13.4. The new option will be automatically enabled on devices when you update them to the latest beta release. Your device must be signed in with the same Apple ID that you used to enroll in the program. In future macOS releases, this new setting will be the way to enable betas and configuration profiles will no longer give you access.

    • Workaround: Wait around 5 seconds after seeing the yellow indicator in the Menu Bar, or use a different app for your recording needs
    • Issue present since macOS 12.0
  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
Untested Issues
  • File Not Found error persists when trying to open some files (or moved files) in the Finder
  • Quicklook crashes, and will not preview images and other files in the Finder
  • Opening a new Safari Tab (when in dark mode) sometimes shows a white window with white text

Additional Notes
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"

all in all, no major issues?
Hope So! Usually this time of year, updates-wise, Apple's focusing on stability and any remaining bug fixes. Good to see notes indicating Watch Sign In issues have been addressed.

Could you please take a look at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/254771724

The recent Ventura versions have a terrible memory leak issue that eats all the user's memory by `configd` process.

The author has already located the bug to special functions, please let your developer fix it.

Screenshot 2023-04-12 at 17.12.45.png

(In this vimdiff figure of configd, left: 6M memory, right 800M memory. This system dylib `libsystem_kernel.dylib` or its caller didn't release the memory.)

Earlier memory leak usually has limited impact, however, this time, it's configd, a daemon process need to be running 24x7x31. I'm wondering the same issue is happening on IOS, slowing and tearing down your phone :)

16-inch MacBook Pro from 2021 running Beta 2 software. I experienced an issue where the laptop crashed (turned off) after I closed the lid. When I tried to boot it up and entered my password, I encountered a black screen. I restarted the laptop, and it seems to be working fine now. Don't know what else to expect.

I want to add more infomation for this bug: after disconnect from charger and take my macbook from home to office, the configd eats about 100M+ memory. This bug may related to system hibernation.
