Remaining Issues
  • QuickTime Player does not record the first couple of seconds when you use a Microphone (FB10086556)

Untested Issues

Additional Notes
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS Ventura Preview
  • macOS Ventura Features

surprised they issued a public beta with such a fatal network connection issue normally public one is one day after dev beta

They usually release the public beta when they are late in the beta cycle. Since they are aware of it (as stated in the Release Notes), they will probably fix it in the next beta or the RC.

Since it is really a strong failure, I hope Apple lets us not wait for one or two weeks...

Glad I saw this post, the network issue was driving me nuts. Couldn't access my NAS boxes or windows shares. So I just disable Lulu when I want to stream, and enable for internet. Hope next build fixes this.

I jus got a reply from Little Snitch:

As for your question, Apple has introduced a bug in its latest macOS 13.4 Beta 4 causing network connectivity to break when using a content filter like Little Snitch.

We have already looked at this, but we can’t fix it ourselves. So we have to wait until Apple fixes this bug on their side.

The only thing which helps temporarily is disabling the Little Snitch Content Filter in System Settings > Network > VPN & Filters.

I did that and all runs fine for the time being. I hope, this helps.

thanks, disabling and then enabling again could bring back the network connection for the time being, you guys may try it out

Very very bad for me. I've tried everything I can think of to fix but for what ever reason it's having issues connecting to Apple Services

I don't think it's an issue with them at all, it's all on Apple's side.

But if it won't connect to anything Apple, how will we get it? My machine refuses to do anything regarding Apple.

With Cisco AnyConnect VPN, even when I am not using it, the content filters keep re-enabling themselves after disabling and it borks my connectivity. What did help was also disabling the firewall, not ideal but I can at least sort of use my Mac now.

I'm having two issues.

Messages will randomly log me out, and I will be completely unable to log be in, unless I reboot.
Wifi will slowly degrade until I am unable to do any internet traffic, while I'm connected to ExpressVPN. Wired connection seems unaffected.

I have two Macs nearly unusable now. One M1 Silicon MBP that did have Little Snitch installed. One Intel MBP that did not have LS. Email from clients other than Apple Mail seem to work. Safari does not work at all. Chrome works maybe 50% of the time. I am typing from the Intel MBP right now in Chrome. What concerns me is that both of the these Macs do not seem able to connect to the Software Update server. How might I update to the next build of the Public Beta if my Macs cannot connect to the software update server? I am running this Mac with extensions off and it's still barely working.

turning off content filter items following the steps mentioned in above self-explanatory threads would resume the connection

Network cuts out (EThernet or wifi, or hotspot, every few minutes and seems to just disappear frequently. Basically impossible to use. Trying to figure out how to get back to the prior beta or release without loosing data. Thank god I found this thread before taking drastic measures...

(problem occurs just as much with Little Snitch disabled in app's menu) (but better if disabled in Network Settings/Filters)

Is there an easy way to restore a Mac Studio to prior to this beta or out of beta via migration or time machine without using a bootable install image?
