  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"

I deleted mine before installing 14.2 beta 2. I can add / delete widgets and no crashes under 14.2 beta 2.

Can you guys delete the widgets and add them back in?
nope still crashes with all widgets deleted.

are you on an M3 mac? im guessing that might be the issue.

Intel MBA - widget editor crashes, although I can edit individual widgets (if they have anything to edit, such as picking the country for the weather widget).

Also, the new Shazam / Music Recognition menubar item doesn't show. The option to add it to the control centre does work, though.

System Firmware: unchanged from beta 1

iBridge: updated to (iBridge: 21.16.2041.5.4,0)

OS Loader: updated to 580-946

Nope. Curiously on the preceding OS the iphone widgets where missing. Just the Sonoma ones where present. Now, I deleted them and, there is no way to add them again, because it crashes like the video. Reported it to Apple already. Macbook Air M2 15" here. So not just an M3 problem.
Continuity is also broken, cannot anymore copy on iPhone (XR) and paste on MB or viceversa.

Apparently there is a revised beta update for the M3. Did you try it yet?

Interesting, i dont see a revised beta, at least not over the air. Is there a link to where you saw that mentioned?

That’s what I have too. The user was mistaken. Guess you’ll have to wait till the next beta to hopefully have it fixed.
right. its definitely not the biggest deal in the world. i submitted a bug report. itll get fixed eventually

Used Feedback Assistant to note to Apple that beta 2 is causing issues on Safari when watching sites that offer 'live' video of sporting events; sites that were smooth in 14.1 stutter during sequences involving high amounts of screen delta. Doesn't happen on Apple Silicon, only Intel Macs.

A 2018 8G/512SSD being kept as a control on 14.1.1 doesn't have the issue.

AirPlay from iPhone 15 running 17.2 beta 2 to M1 MacBook Air with 14.2 is completely broken on this beta, as it was on the last one.

Ok, it seems ridiculous, but after I disabled two extensions that Oracle Java was using, I was able to largely eliminate the stutter.

I can see LuLu interfering but Java? Just means there's some lazy programmers at Oracle.

Sent another FA message identifying the offending extensions. Somehow I doubt it'll be addressed as it's an Intel-only issue and Intel has no future at Apple anyway.

Starting to get resentful of Apple introducing system bloat to the point where basic stuff like smooth video playing requires I tweak the system to get back features I could count on.

update: stuttering is back :(
