Quite literally 6 times (and counting) since logging back in after updating.

Once again the OP is locked as cruel joke, Edit button is quite unavailable

The info I got: build is 23D56

Intel firmware: 2020.80.5.0.1 (unchanged from beta 3)

iBridge: 21.16.3049.0.0.0 (up from 21.16.3040.5.3.0 in beta 3)

for some reason needed a shutdown / cold reboot before keyboard came online

IGNORE! iCloud Drive upload was simply stuck on another Mac. Restart fixed it.

14.3 introduced an iCloud Drive bug: files added to iCloud Drive on another Mac don't show up in iCloud Drive on the Mac running 14.3.

Only started on 14.3 and is consistent through all betas.

Can other users reproduce it?

It's unbelievable to me that we're going on a .3 Release and we're still unable to select a Folder from the Photos App to cycle thru Desktop Wallpaper. This has now been ongoing for multiple people since June of 2023.

If anyone cares, please note FB13282770 in your feedback, if you're one that does. Please & Thank You...

45 minutes and still installing…. 🥲

Since macOS 14.3 the cursor on the desktop can't click on anything, but it will still works on apps, only on the desktop it stop working randomly...

Anyone else?

^^^^I'll agree that the arrow doesn't change to a hand like in the past, but when I hover over something and click on it, it opens just fine.

Spoken Content with Siri STILL broken in 14.3 (23D56). Apple will not respond to any of my 6 Feedback Assistant submissions.

I'm not sure if this is specific to macOS as I've seen it happen on my iPhone, too, but autocorrect has been REALLY wonky lately.. I could be typing an entire paragraph, and then I'll notice through my peripheral (because I generally look down at the keyboard when I type) that an entire sentence or sentences are changed to completely different words! It's like Siri is trying to correct my grammar, too, not just the spelling, but then screws it all up. Sometimes even adding a return carriage to force a new line or weird things like adding an 'and' or something and then omitting words but then sometimes adding a bunch of words?! It's like I had something copied and then I'd highlight it and paste over it, but only I'm not. I'm just typing and that happens. I've seen it on my iPhone a few times, but it happens often on my Mac. Funny enough, a lot while I'm typing comments here. But it has happened, too, while working. I'm really needing to go through and reread everything I type.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sonoma has an "auto type" feature now that finishes sentences here and in various programs.
since I write, I needed to turn the feature off.

(I think you knew about this)

I know it can try adding on afterwards, but I’m referring to going back and changing full sentences to something else.
oh, I never experienced this, which sounds scary.

the more I read about Somona, the more I desire to use Monterey again.

i don't have any such issue on my 2 macs on sonoma. and read thru any OS forum on macrumors... people are unhappy, enraged; it's an (endless) pattern.

overall, sonoma is an exceptional experience (for me); fast, stable. efficient. and all my needed apps work. just what i want (& need) from an OS...

Thanks for this, I didn't realize you could keep suggested words on, along with everything else, but still turn off the option to do it automatically.

Every release, everyone has some type of issue at some point. Some so minor it doesn't matter, and some so bad people revert to a prior OS. And every year it's always the same, "Oh yeah! Me too!" followed by the "Huh, I'm not having any issues" comments.

FWIW, macOS 14.3 has been running great. Besides the Autocorrect thing and a couple other issues I've reported, macOS is macOS.

*we shouldn't be into the next calendar year with a 'point three' update and still not be able to select a folder from the Photos app to cycle thru desktop wallpaper randomly. But here we are (FB13282770, reported back in June).

So how buggy is Sonoma, compared to Ventura ?

In my own experience, Ventura (latest version) is pretty buggy, and I'm wondering if I should upgrade to Sonoma, but I fear it may be more buggy at 14.3 only...

As with any version of macOS (or OS X, too), it's not "better" until you get at around a "point three or four" update. Earlier on always ironing out the bugs. This year is no different.

I use a 2018 Intel Mac mini and an M1 MBP both on Sonoma, both run just fine. Better than Ventura, IMO.

that 'point three or four' thing is an urban legend; mac OS development is never a straight line forward.

with each new point update, some bugs get squashed, some new ones might be introduced. one issue might be resolved, another started. there's never a perfect moment for everyone.

Yeah, there's lots of examples too.. like 4K 120 Hz might get patched to work in one version, then the next point release it's broken again.. but they fix a WiFi bug..

IME Apple sometimes downgrades components in order to fix one bug that re-introduces others.. how hard is it to maintain a codebase that doesn't work like a Jenga pile?

Safari in Sonoma is another example of this.. on a last-gen Intel rMBP, DRM'd http streams regularly lose / gain compatibility seemingly dependent on what time of day it is, makes me think Safari is now this monstrous pile of spaghetti code that no one really knows how to manage. Of course, this isn't the case if it's the Apple Silicon version..

On my M2 Max Studio, there's now a weird bug in Mail. If I type an email longer than a paragraph, the text begins winking out and rearranging itself, often overlapping words. If I keep typing, the paragraph will straighten out. But more typing causes it to go haywire again. I'd never seen anything like that before.

I’m having this happen often on both my M1 MBP and Intel Mac mini.
