Not on my M2 MBA (Feb. 2023), maybe related to something you have installed.Reported on FB13182832, screen turns off when opening the lid, MacOS 14.0 RC, Macbook Air M2 Model.
+ When the issue happened, the Caps Lock key light is functional.
Not seeing it.There is a bug of the file accessing. In Finder, open a file from SMB share with PS, PixelMator or some other apps and make some edit, then save the file to the SMB share. Close app. then in finder, preview will stop working and Finder will crash after some time.
Look, as long as it's showing the right IP address when you are running it, everything is fine. Not sure what other security features are needed. I've tested my PIA install, and it shows country-correct IP address when being used. VPN Kill switch works as it should. My SonicWall mobile connect VPN client also works perfectly. In fact, I have not had one issue with Sonoma RC. My speedometer 2.1 score is 496 on base M2 MacStudio Ultra (in Safari). That's almost 80 points higher than I was getting under 10.13.5. I've never seen a score that high!I can believe they all run with no visible problem. But do they suffer from the bug that Mullvad describes? If they do, they may not be secure.
I use PIA and it runs fine. I have asked PIA whether it is safe from the bug.
So anyone think we will get the final today?
I think we are on the final already. Have not had one issue with the RC yet (except some of the applications had to be updated, e.g., TG Pro.)So anyone think we will get the final today?
I asked PIA about this. From their testing, the PF bug that affects Mullvad is reproducible but occurs in a particular use of PF (quick rules) and PIA do not use pf in that way. So not all VPNs are effected by this bug. But PIA are concerned about a number of new bugs/changes in PF in addition to long standing bugs that Apple refuse to fix. The good news: PIA have not found any leaks with PIA for MAC. Bad news: The long standing pf bug effecting split tunnel has not been fixed.mullvad.netBug in macOS 14 Sonoma prevents our app from working - Blog | Mullvad VPNThe macOS 14 Sonoma betas and release candidate contain a bug that causes the firewall to not filter traffic correctly. As a result, our app does not work.
According to the Mullvad VPN team, packet filtering is messed up on Sonoma betas and RC.
If Apple takes this seriously, final version won't be 23A339.
I'm still running Mojave on my 2014 Mac mini that I use as home server. You really should not use Big Sur or Catalina as they are no longer supported. Monterey is really the oldest you should be.
RC means release candidate. It should be the final version, unless something crucial is found and needs to be fixed before the official release. Only very rarely does the final release differ from the RC beta.Hey guys.
The RC is the final version?
I can't wait to test this, so if it's like the iOS 17 updates, I believe that using developers version is already the final version?
Just installed.RC means release candidate. It should be the final version, unless something crucial is found and needs to be fixed before the official release. Only very rarely does the final release differ from the RC beta.
I think they’re just “officially” waiting for release to say it’s supported. I’ve had no issues with Homebrew beyond the warning saying it’s not supported.Homebrew still hasn't been updated for Sonoma, but I notice that some formulae already have Sonoma versions.
