There better be a way to turn this "feature" off via a toggle in Mail settings. (Not referring to the feature flag, which would be turned on by default if the feature ships, and which typical, non-developer/QA end users wouldn't know about).

"Apple appears to be testing a new formatting bar for the Mail app's compose window that promotes Apple Intelligence's Writing Tools and Siri AI"

Instead of "promotes" it seems more like force feeding AI, even if it isn't the default.

The easily amused will love it.

It’s actually a good thing that all these gAI features won’t be available in the EU until later.

While three-quarters of the world has to deal with this pressure from the start, 450 million people can still use the new system and might get gAI once Apple stops acting like Microsoft and finds a balance.

Unless, of course, someone has slipped from the “user” level to the “consumer” level and can no longer live without these artificial guidelines.

It's already there in TextEdit with the new Siri AI lightweight UI.

That’s actually not that bad and a whole lot better than Windows has been doing either Copilot. Another Windows thing I would loathe to see is the incorporation of advertising throughout the whole operating system it’s really disgusting. In Windows’s case double so because the OS is payed for.

I hope that next year, Apple focus less on changing the ui elements themselves and more on the ux for using Siri in apps - instead of the ‘ai bolt on’ approach that we see in the industry right now.

Stupid AI everywhere.

Next one will be stupid lenovo with Stupid Linux ubuntu installed on it.

Just don’t care abt AI

My god, this is sad

What value is your thank you if you didn’t even write it?

This is not the way forward folks.
“Thank you for your careful consideration“
“Thank you for your prompt reply”
“Thank you for taking the time to review my proposal”

Such acknowledgments will become meaningless, and the following ridiculous:

“Sincerely … “
“Respectfully … “
