MacOS App Library question

When launching an app from the new App Library, can I change it to launch with a single click? I really don't like having to click twice--it feels dumb to me.

I figured it out. I had the App Library in List mode. There you need to click twice. But in Grid then a single click launches the app. I wonder why this is different?

In list mode, you can both open apps as well as search within said app. Since there are multiple options available, single-click opening would run counter to how the App Library works in list mode.
