Is the Safari performance a little snappier?

I just hope my Safari doesn't just keep crashing each day.

Didn't they comment on this saying that its safe and we should not worry about it?

That being said, its still a good thing they backtracked unlike Amazon, Google, and Facebook that would probably say it was a bug then go ahead and hide it somewhere else until enough PR fuss rises again.

This is scary that a company would intentionally bypass user installed security measures. Sounds like a way for Apple to keep eyes on you. I thought they were all about privacy? Tim Cook should be ashamed.

Very happy to hear this. When I first learnt about Apple software being able to bypass VPNs, etc., I felt it was the beginning of the end (i.e. Apple becoming another scummy tech company.) Glad to hear this was just a temporary thing as they ironed out some bugs.

So does this mean split tunnel VPNs won’t work anymore? Or is it still up to the service to implement it or not?

I believe layer 2 VPN isn't possible (or briefly wasn't?), but most VPNs will work — they just need to use a different mechanism now.

Im not so sure a company being part of Prism means a company is about Privacy to be honest
