This was a very un-Apple-like gap for far too long. Good to see they finally resolved it
Yeah, they can.can a stereo pair of HomePod Minis be set as the default audio output? they still can’t on Apple TV and the amount of bugs related to the current AirPlay setup is very frustrating.
How is that even a question? Outdated OS versions get security updates at most.Boy that's going to help sales. So the people running Mohave can just go F themselves?
Ask Siri to stop listening. You have to reactivate in the home app. The literally only thing it is listening for is "Hey Siri" though. Nothing leaves the device until that command is invoked.I have a question. Is it there a way to deactivate the Homepod’s microphones? You know, for privacy
It doesn't throttle the WiFi. It uses more bandwith to ensure low enough latency to enable UI sounds. I don't even think they use enough considering it still breaks up.First see then believe. Why not first get it right on the Apple TV? Setting homepods as default (not as Airplay) throttles the WiFi.
Water will always be wet!one thing less for us to complain about..
The other inputs just go to the TV, yes.A smidge off topic but..
If you have a homepod pair as the default sound from an Apple 4k TV what happens with the other inputs (eg xbox, live tv via an aerial etc).Is that just sound via the TV?
is the setup for people with just an AppleTV?
you know when you're watching a movie and a car drives past the camera from left to right (or right to left)? for that. Why would anyone want stereo?
I have a question. Is it there a way to deactivate the Homepod’s microphones? You know, for privacy
What took them so long …?
Partially related, why isn't AirPlay 2 fully supported throughout macOS? About time, I'd say …
I’d be happy if they let you permanently set a single HomePod or HomePod mini as the default. Right now if you choose a HomePod mini (unpaired) as the sound output, it defaults back to internal speakers if the system goes to sleep and wakes up. It’s about time AirPlay 2 is finally supported in macOS. How many years has it been since AirPlay 2 came out?
This are regular HomePod's, not the mini. You cannot set the mini as default audio out on Apple TV.Yeah, they can.
What do you mean by this? I have no issues with my WiFi and I have a stereo pair connected as default audio out.First see then believe. Why not first get it right on the Apple TV? Setting homepods as default (not as Airplay) throttles the WiFi.
