macOS Open Directory server..

Hi all,

Not used OD on macOS server for a while but it used to work quite nicely. I need to setup a local office with 10 macs with network accounts. It seems that although OD is supposed to be in server 5.10 (?) its not working. In any event, there doesn't even appear to be a service in the Server app for OD, or am I missing something?

If it really is gone/useless, can anyone recommend an alternative?

It's practically dead, and you'd be better of with a Synology NAS. OD is still there, but:

1. it doesn't work
2. they've hidden it up in the server app menu bar - I think under view

Brilliant - thanks for that. Didn't see it hidden under View! I've started looking at JumpCloud as an alternative.. Will see how that goes as it seems more reliable longer.

Look at Synology NAS if you need something on prem. Super simple to administer.

Synology Directory Server should work as a good replacement.
