MacOS Photo backup via Wifi?

I’m thinking of getting the new Mac mini. On My old setup (2010 MacMini, MacOS Maverick I think) I could do a phone backup to hard drive over WIFI but for photos I still had to connect with cord to my Mac and use the MacOS photos app to backup photos to my hard drive. Can anyone confirm if on the new MacOS I could do photo backup over wifi to my Mac hard drive without having to connect with cord?
