Hello, I have a Macbook Pro 2017 with 116 battery cycles, coconutBattery is showing the following capacity. The battery life unplugged is 4:30h which suits me. I just need to open the Mac and check if the battery is swollen, right?

Edit: I used Apple diagnostics to test the Mac and no errors were found.

If the battery isn't swollen, and you're comfortable with the length of usage you get from current charges, just keep using it.

If you wanted it replaced, an Apple Store MIGHT be able to do it IF they still have replacement batteries in stock for that model. Will cost you $249 but you get an Apple-labeled original battery, installation, and a short warranty.

Apparently it's stewed.

See if the Apple Store will repair it. It's on the cusp of obsolete (by Apple's repair standards), but you might be lucky.

I contacted Apple because the 2016 and 2017 models were within the battery replacement quality program. However, due to the serial number, the model I use was not part of the affected batch.

In my region, the exchange within an authorized Apple has a high cost. I bought the parallel battery and I will change it in person. I'll keep my Mac turned off to avoid possible trackpad damage until I perform the exchange.
