Note: a weird error occurs before restarting with this release where "It cannot personalize your update". Try restarting again and it should work the second time.

(If you are encountering any issues, please press "Edit" on the bottom of this post and add it here)

Remaining Issues

  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
  • General Bluetooth reliability issues (mouse and keyboard lag, audio lag, audio distortion) with 3rd party and Apple accessories per reports on Reddit and elsewhere.

Untested Issues

  • "Legacy Extensions" will be incompatible with future versions (HP and Canon)

Additional Notes
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 15 Sequoia will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.
  • macOS 15 is officially supported on the following devices. If your device is not listed below, it has unfortunately been dropped by Apple. Any efforts of trying to get your Mac running macOS 15, including bugs should be discussed in this thread.

Find My still does not find people on my 2019 Intel iMac. Strangely, however, it did find my wife once and now shows where she was 30 minutes ago.

I kept trying and eventually it worked - it didn't feel right disabling Find my mac to install an update

Same problem here - disabling Find My Mac did not help. Various many attempts over an hour and still no luck.

Using `topgrade` had the same result, just more details.

This is the error message shown on Terminal if I toggle verbose mode using softwareupdate command.

You guys are lucky ,it didn't download and install. I did install it. My Mac Studio kept freezing. I had to reinstall Fromm an earlier version I had. All working fine again on previous version. It seems to work on my M3 MacBook Pro.

After waiting a while for that "Failed to personalise the software update" error to go away* I updated.

As usual, Bluetooth was turned on. Every install on both MacOS and iOS does this., I'm used to it.

New, however, is that every MacOS install now changes my "network address" (properly called MAC address) settings from "Off" to "Fixed". I have to change this back after each beta.

* I read that this was an Apple server issue. Anyway, all I had to do was wait until today and it upgraded fine.

I'm not a developer. How am I able to get beta 7? Is there a way to know for sure if it's beta 7 vs Public beta 4?

I also got the error message above, but after a few tries it installed without the error message.

The issue causing that error message seems to have been fixed at Apple's end.

DB7 and PB4 are the same. Any reason why you want to be on the dev betas?

You need to associate your Apple ID (or whatever they call it nowadays - Apple-Inteligence-Infused-Account-ID or something) with being a developer and then the option to install dev betas will appear. There's no charge.

Bluetooth is somehow even worse in this. Before, it was getting crackling for some short-length audio (eg: notification sounds). My AirPods Max are now cracking constantly if music is playing and any other sound is played simultaneously. It's hijacking the connection from my iPhone mid-call at random. Keyboard and mouse get lag and need to be turned on and off.

Nobody on this forum has agreed with me so far that they've seen all this, but plenty on Reddit have. Apple is ignoring my Feedback Assistant case.

Sequoia feels like everybody just nodded and pushed it out without actually beta testing it. This and the early issue where BASIC DNS REQUESTS would fail at random, requiring a full reboot (fixed in the emergency 15.0.1 update) really caused me a ton of grief. I am keeping Sonoma on my main machine for now.

I’ve submitted feedback/bug reports for both iOS and macOS but it’s been multiple versions of both OSes now, I’m just resigned that it’s just the way it works.
As have I. For whatever reason, Apple refuses to respect people's decisions on some settings.

I think we're in the minority though; most people didn't complain when Apple changed the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings in the control centre to just remove some connected devices without actually turning the relevant radios off.
