Wow, that's really cringe.

I'm not a fan of Apple's faux-nature nonsense, and they could have built an office tower with the provisions already in place to turn it into residential space as working in offices stops being a thing. There's not a single reason for software developers or managers to go into an office if they don't want to. Even hardware developers don't really need to be in a lab at least 95% of the time.

Apple is great. But this, at first glance, seems weird – why pretend you're at Apple?
Wouldn't high quality backgrounds of different regions of Earth be more useful (maybe take inspiration from visionOS environments)?
Yeah my first thought was whether they considered this being a security issue with someone trying to impersonate being an apple employee

This fits with the impression I'm given that quite a lot of Apple OS innovation is driven by the needs of their staff, not users more generally.
Oh I have the exact opposite impression. Nothing about iPad Pro, for example, suggests anybody's eating their own dogfood.

I wonder if Photo Booth will get those backgrounds... or if this spells an eventual discontinuation of the Photo Booth application, with a Camera.app replacement, chock-full of visionOS backgrounds. Photo Booth hasn't been updated in a long time.

I know Windows 10/11 has a Camera application, so I wouldn't be surprised if Apple goes the same path. Perhaps in macOS 16.
Even to this day, I still like goofing around photo booth, from time to time.

Such a bizarre thing, I just had a look and yes they are there, but they don't give you anything else besides some gradient colours. So with all of Apples supposed creativity, they think we just want backdrops of Apple HQ and nothing else?
