Macos Sierra Finder animations gone

Anyone knows why animation are gone when double clicking HDD, SSD, and other icons on desktop. In El Capitan it has this nice zoom animation and it's gone in Sierra.

in system preferences, Accessibility>Display: is 'reduce motion' checked? if so... uncheck it...

It's not checked.

not sure. try checking in, then unchecking it... anyway, lol, i always have it checked, so not sure what's changed.
