As I had a spare Extreme Pro Portable doing nothing, decided I'd download the beta, as a dmg, and install it. Overall quite pleased. Can see there are some areas for development, in particular in finder, where it's a little bit of mess. I personally love the new 'launcher', as I used to spend time sorting the app's. I do dislike the inability to widen settings, and apps, but that's been the case ever since they introduced it.
I feel that it's quite speedy to use. I changed my display to a higher resolution, and waited for the flicker, but it was done instantly. Safari is on turbo boost, but I wonder if that has a lot to do with removing some of the intel leftovers, and trimming things down.

Anyone else noticing a bit of stutter in transitions? Getting some occasional lag here and there. Running on a MacBook Air M4 — though I’ve been restoring my systems regularly since 2018. Wondering if that might be affecting things or if it’s just a beta quirk.

It is laggy sometimes. Animations and transitions smoothness is not up to Apple’s standards that we know and love

Yes, got it working. Did you do a full uninstall and reboot before you ran the old driver’s installer? There’s also a Wacom file in /Library/PrivilegedHelperTools you might want to try deleting as well, as it seems to be missed by the uninstalled.
SOLVED....Thanks for the tip. I followed all the suggestions, but the tablet still wasn't working. Then I had an idea—I downloaded the old drivers, tested them, and version 6.4.9 worked. Here’s the link. I hope this helps someone. ☺️

There is no lag on my mini but I have an M4 Pro (and even the Pro version with more cores) and 64GB of RAM.

But I can feel it's using much more power than Sequoia because the mini is getting already very warm when only doing more than one light task.

In Beta 1 and 2 it even felt hot the whole time. So it seems to get better.

But it was never that hot for the fan going above the standard 1000 RPM, what is absolutely silent.

Everything is smoother now than in the first two betas. But since the CPU/GPU never even got close to it's limits it might have been just bad animation programming.

In Sequoia the case of the Mac was normally just cool all the time. Now just watching a video on YouTube already makes it very warm.

I don't know if it needs more RAM and how much the GPU had been used before. But the CPU temperatures seem to be almost back to normal when doing light stuff. I only remember the Efficiency Cores always had been exactly at 45 degrees and and the performance cores always at 40 degrees when doing almost nothing.

Sadly I don't have screenshots from Sequoia. But here you can see the temperatures from Beta 1 compared to 3, when doing nothing or just light tasks like reading and posting here. Beta 2 wasn't better in this case than Beta 1.

Beta 1:

Beta 3:

This is the same version of that app by the way, it normally is just grey. Those blueish design changes came from macOS Beta 1 (maybe depending on the background), in Beta 3 it's always just grey again like before.

When you post "doing nothing", what is activity monitor (or "top -o cpu") showing?

After booting, I occasionally get the process AMPDevicesAgent running at 100%. I kill it, to no apparent ill effect. It restarts itself and runs normally.

I've logged a Feedback. As I jumped directly from Sequoia to B3 I've no idea if this problem existed in previous betas.

Are you guys being able to Reload the Updates page in Mac App Store? It is not possible always, only in certain occasions, really weird

I think the problem is WindowServer. It is always on top when I do "nothing" and seems to use the GPU very much. Kernel_task mostly follows. I don't know how the number had been before in Sequoia. But there is nothing special going crazy and using over 100%. There was a Creative driver doing this in Beta 1 but I deleted it.

Safari Technology Preview where I am writing this at the moment is at 1% or less CPU usage. Okay it has it's own process, but also not much.

I wonder why Telegram is using 12.8% CPU here and in Activity Monitor only 1.6%.

Has anyone heard of beta 3 bricking Intel macbooks or was it just a coincidence mine completely died the night after I updated? I'm on a 16" i9 and the trackpad has haptics but nothing on the screen, touchbar or keyboard. I've tried every single possible boot key combination that exists, disconnected the battery but still nothing.

On my system, if I'm just watching the CPU utilisation and not moving app windows around, my WindowsServer drops to a very low number. Not sure why yours stays relatively high.

No idea about Telegram - it could have just been a timing issue whereby it checked for new messages or updates when you were looking.

However, as you say, nothing is going crazy so the battery shouldn't otherwise be affected.

Anyone having external SSD drive disconnects. Always happens to the same drives, yet when I boot from my Sequoia OS the drives are availzle all day.

No issues here. I have a 2TB Samsung T7 and a 4TB M.2 in a Ugreen enclosure, both connected via a Razer thunderbolt dock, both remaining mounted and accessible at all times. Both drives hold media libraries for a Jellyfin server so that may be keeping them “active”.

^^^^Wow - you are running much hotter than my M2 Ultra Mac Pro. My Temps are F:

Somehow the attachment is gone in my answer.

For better comparison I changed mine (left) to Fahrenheit and put your image (right) next to it. I am just making this post in Firefox. The Screenshot while doing this in Safari yesterday had even higher temperatures.

The Pro might just have a much better cooling.
