  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
Additional Notes
  • This is a DEVELOPER BETA! This means that you should install on either a second device or a second volume. This is not currently usable on a day-to-day basis and certain apps may not work. To see those apps, you can check this thread.
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 26 Tahoe will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this and the update won’t install with an installer.

Just like last time, in order to see the update on devices with Apple Silicon processors, delete these two folders. It didn’t work until I did that again.

/Library/Apple/usr/share/rosetta
/Library/Apple/usr/libexec

Does anyone know if the bug in the "launchpad" has been fixed? Or is it just me, that I have problems with it. Even in spotlight when I type the app that I want to quickly launch, there is NO RESULT at all. Not in spotlight, nor in the new Apps thingy... I even tried to rebuild the index but didn't help.

Works for me running Beta 4 under Parallels. Typed in Safari and showed up.

Did anyone get a "Keep all your files in iCloud" message when upgrading? Underneath it had <<DNP>> or something like that. with a checkbox. I checked it and clicked continue and it asked me to upgrade my iCloud storage. I tried and then it disappeared. Is apple testing something like iCloud backup for Mac?

anyone else lost is clock widget?

Nevermind, just got it back

That screenshot with the Finder windows looks awful. Those tab bars… all the rounding… and the distinction between active/inactive is low contrast. They’ve taken something that had consistency and decent aesthetics and turned it into something has no virtually no harmony between all the elements. It’s more distracting, not less, as per their marketing.

Apple News app just disappeared. I checked iCloud settings too, just poof, gone. Anyone else? Checked 2 machines on beta 4.

EDIT: Weird, they had it hidden. command-shift "." revealed it:

For the person who always asks in here if the compact view for tabs is back in Safari I am here to inform you once again that it is not.
yeah Safari is still terrible, they still haven't fixed any of the annoyances like not being able to tell which tab is selected. Apple hired the amateur team to work on Tahoe it seems.

I'm still not seeing the update and rosetta isn't installed. I also tried installing it through the full installer but after some time, it gives me an error message that a working internet connection is required (it is working, trust me!)...
