  • On non notched devices, the volume indicator may have excessive padding in full screen (Present since 26.2 Beta 3)
  • Alarms may not play when your display is asleep for a long period of time (FB10086690)
    • Workaround: Make your display not fall asleep in Settings > Lock Screen > Turn display off on ____ when inactive. You can turn your brightness off.
    • Issue present since macOS 13.0
  • Dictionary toolbar does not have the blur effect for content that scrolls (FB20961118; present since 26.0)

Untested Issues
  • Additional Notes
  • Please know, Memory Management has always been an issue on any OS (not just Apple's). If you believe there is a Memory Leak, please go to the Apple Menu > Restart > Restart to fix it.
  • When a new macOS release comes out, all issues automatically go to "Untested Issues" until they are moved by someone. Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"
  • macOS 26 Tahoe will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this, as the update won’t install with an installer.

I'm really curious what substance Apple engineers used? What kind of bug is that?

Edit: Looks like it's not a bug. It's a glitch after the update.

'killall Dock' command fixing the issue.

Why are you going back?
(Not a critique. I'm still on Sequoia myself. Just curious.)

For example because of this:

It had been 1000% with one Finder window open lately. Now no window is open at all. This also happens with other processes that never should be on top of the list. I never even heard of them before. Mostly while doing nothing or almost nothing like just having a browser open and writing here.

The M4 Pro Mac mini is getting hot and the fan loud.

is this the same build as 26.2 RC?

Yes. Although the IPSW strangly is 55 instead of 56.

Edit: it's also 23 instead of 25, what is Sonoma. Might just be a typo. Sonoma 14.8.3 would be 23J220.

Maybe I try running the full installer again on top of my installation before downgrading but I think that never fixed anything for me.

Or even try the second clean install of Tahoe.

I am not good at making decisions and have to sleep now. 😑

Stuttering dialog animations (for example the message when emptying the trash) still not fixed on 26.2. Checked on M4 Max Mac Studio, M4 Mac Mini and M1 MacBook Pro. Edit: Quick Look animation still stuttering as well.

What’s the point of the new edge light, it’s literally makes zero difference using max brightness on 16” MacBook Pro even using Mac brightness it makes no change in web cam quality, so what’s the point, even changing the light temp doesn’t make a difference

after installing macOS 26.2 using MacRumors site with adguard blocker now none of the images load, didnt have the issue before, if I disable adguard they come back fine

at least we (apple users) are consistent, I heard complaints when multi-finder replaced finder, OS X replaced os7/8/9. it appears we are demanding, and believe apple will deliver perfection one day (hopeless dream)

Was a good RC to hop on early :p

has been smooth and better than 26.1 on my 15 inch M2 Air.

I think the brightness flicker has gone away too that was hella annoying.
