Issues that stay in Untested for 3 releases (beta or smooth) will be removed from all future threads. When there is a new macOS release, please be sure to let us know about the issue's status by moving it to either "Remaining Issues" or "Resolved Issues"

Additional Notes
  • Updates might not show up in Settings as soon as it releases if you have Rosetta 2 installed. This is due to Apple not releasing Rosetta at the same time as macOS Tahoe Betas. Please wait up to an hour before you will be able to update.
  • If you are encountering a memory management issue (eg. a Memory Leak), please provide what app/process it is coming from (Using Activity Monitor) and what you were doing in that app.
  • macOS 26 Tahoe will be installed via a Delta Update in System Settings. Please be aware about this, as the update won’t install with an installer.
  • macOS 26 is officially supported on the following devices. If your device is not listed below, it has unfortunately been dropped by Apple. Any efforts of trying to get your Mac running macOS 26, including bugs should be discussed in this thread.
    • MacBook Air: M1, M2, M3, M4, M5
    • MacBook Pro: 2019 (16 Inch only), Intel 2020 (4 thunderbolt port only), M1/M1 Pro/M1 Max, M2/M2 Pro/M2 Max, M3/M3 Pro/M3 Max, M4/M4 Pro/M4 Max, M5/M5 Pro/M5 Max

Installed no issues so far. Will give it another day and test again but i always just run a few benchmark tests after an update. Waited for activity monitor to level out and background tasks seemed finish. Speedometer 3.1 dropped down from 59.5 to 52.4. Hopefully just something else I'm missing

I'm back off of the beta trunk until macOS 27 - and yep, this update is fine. If I understand correctly, this was to simply correct an Apple sync issue

so far, still no change in this performance drop, even Geekbench went down a bit. hopefully this isn't an issue with the update, but cpu and disk usage is literally idling at 0-1% usage, so it doesn't appear anything going on in the background, yet the performance has dropped via benchmarking

EDIT: Another reboot seem to resolve whatever that issue was, hopefully fine now lol

On M1 Max running 26.4.1 my GB scores are up slightly on 26.4 in SC, MC, more noticeably in Metal & CL GPU, with AI remaining the same.

Machine idles with ~1% CPU at 36°C, so afaict performance is heading in the right direction and this is the best Tahoe release thus far.

Does anyone know whether the black wallpaper bug is solved?

How to reproduce: put any app in full screen mode, then swipe up with three fingers on the trackpad to switch between spaces. The space of the full screen app will be black.

I doubt they fixed it on 26.4.1, it seems too deep to be solved soon, as it happens on different MacBook models… I think we won’t get it fixed until macOS 27

On Intel they fixed the following it appears:
1. Mail no longer runs at 100 percent CPU while open
2. Column View is mostly properly fixed -- the always on scroll bar no longer covers the last entry if you scroll to the bottom of the column. It still does mid column, but the literal bottom line is a major improvement.
3. Custom icons apparently properly work (according to others)

This looks like a must install on Intel.

I'm still seeing the Black background when swiping between full screen apps.

Still have the problem with screensaver randomly stop working.
I'm still having issues with 3rd party screensavers, too. Not just the screensaver not working or going to a black screen instead, but I'm also having issues saving any changes to the screensaver's options. I've been using the Matrix Screensaver (below) for EVER and it's only been recently where this has been an issue. Others acknowledging the same..

I posted this in another forum but this update (and Tahoe in general) has crushed my battery performance in my M4 MBP. I went from 12 hours to 6-7. I even wiped and reinstalled everything and it's still bad.... Horrible... I'm kinda screwed.

It's not a 3rd party screensaver, it's one of the stock MacOS ones. Like, every time I set it to show after 5 minutes of inactivity, display to go to sleep after 10 and more, and it seems to work for a few days. And then it just starts failing to start. Sometimes it works again after a restart, sometimes not.

Yup, same issues with any 3rd Party Screensavers. Something is just totally borked.

upgraded and all of sudden cant watch streaming services via web (safari and chrome!) any suggestions? thanks guys (great channel by the way). not referring to netflix but some local greek telco providers TV services that worked fine via web browsers (chrome and safari) minutes prior to the upgrade and after, i can log into the TV site select a TV channel but it doesnt strem the content! any suggestions? thanks team

(M3 MacBook Air) Before I moved back to Sequoia (clean install with a Sequoia USB drive), Tahoe (version 26.3 at the time) frequently had these "stutters" with animated dialogs (like with the shutdown and restart dialogs, etc.), where the animations feel like they're ~15fps.

It happens less when a GPU-active window is in focus (like a Chrome window with a YouTube tab open, for example). I'm curious if others have been noticing this, too?

Yes, the stuttery animations for dialogs and quick look have been an issue since the first WWDC developer preview release. It has been reported a ton of times to Apple, yet they don't fix it for whatever reason.

Same for the slow loading icons in finder. Still an issue on 26.4.1.

This really irritates me! These are blatant bugs that haven't been fixed since the system's release. By the way, these same bugs (and some others) are still present in 26.5b2, which gives little hope that they will be fixed soon. MacOS Tahoe itself doesn't inspire optimism either.

Apple has a history of not fixing issues like this until the next major release of macOS. I remember macOS 10.14 Mojave having some bad stuttering issues in mission control, especially switching between desktops and full screen apps. They never fixed this performance regression until 10.15 Catalina.

Is anyone on a Mac Pro having internet connectivity issues with this update?
Actually, I was when I first downloaded this update. Searched for solutions like renewing wifi lease in settings & other tweaks in Wifi settings (not sure of the technical terms atm 🙂), but ever since then, no loss of internet connection. When the issue was present, my wifi showed connected, but other devices still worked.

I am still in my 14 day return window for the MBP M5 so ever since this issue has been solved, I have been constantly checking download/upload speeds in different scenarios like waking monitor from sleep, testing right after turning on after shutdown, after installing a bunch of software etc. Seem to always be internet connected & speed tests good.

With this said, could you detail your issues with internet connectivity & when they happened? I would like to test with how your issues transpired. Thanks.

Full screen streaming video (Amazon Prime, Youtube, Netflix) on Promotion resolution causes micro stutters. This was significantly better in 26.2 and I believe 26.3 - This has regressed to the new typical Apple mean of no polish and bugs everywhere.
